RIPSTOP fabric | what is it?

Ripstop is a synthetic fabric (polyamide or polyester) made by adding thicker warp and weft threads every 3 to 5 mm, which reinforces the structure of the canvas.

This allows to avoid, during a snag, the extension of the tear that stops on the larger threads.
