Emptying the CELLS | The best method

To check the fabric of your paraglider, we hang it from the trailing edge. This allows us to take advantage of the opportunity to remove the impurities that weigh it down: leaves, twigs, stones, insects, children’s toys, etc.

We shake the trailing edge where the undesirable elements are concentrated, then the whole glider’s rope to make the impurities go down to the leading edge. We then turn over each box to clear it.

It is very difficult to empty the cells without suspending the glider… The emptying “hatches” with or without velcro located at the stabilisers allow us to remove (with difficulty!) some stones, but not much more…

ANECDOTE

A few years ago, the ASAGIRI workshop removed more than one kilogram of sand from a NIVIUK KLIMBER (a light wing!) that had flown to the Pilat dune!

The porosity and tear resistance were still very good. The pilot, who thought his paraglider had reached its end of life, was pleasantly surprised. He was able to sell his wing with a free spirit.
