STORAGE | the main enemy

I will shock…

It is absolutely useless…

  • to carefully fold his paraglider
  • to perfectly align the rods in a magnificent folding bag
  • avoid sand at all costs…

if it is to finally store your wet equipment!

The overhaul workshops have never declared a paraglider that is regularly misfolded or even dirty unfit for flight.

In 33 years of inspection activity, I have never refused a paraglider damaged by sand!

Normally, all paragliders declared unfit for flight are really widely used. In very rare cases, it also happens that defective fabrics have been used for production.

It is, in general, a strong porosity that causes this “unfit for flight” judgment.

In very rare cases, it is UV exposure that has affected tear resistance.

In the vast majority of cases, the fabric is prematurely aged by humidity, which affects the hold of the fabric in the bias and its porosity.
A wing with high porosity is declared unfit for flight.

Enemy #1 is humidity!

Dry your equipment thoroughly before storing it.

Also avoid exposing your paraglider unnecessarily to UV rays. Place it in the shade as soon as possible, also to dry it out!
